Indian Pacific at Broken Hill
Broken Hill is a silver mining town in far west of NSW in the Australian outback. The train stops here for 2-3 hours to allow passengers to take a number of sighseeing tours within Broken Hill area.
Duke of Cornwall Inn
Built is 1886 to provide the miners with a public house and lodgings. Today it is a comfortable 9 room guest house.
The Great Strike
In 1919 the miners went on striked for 18 months for 35 hour week and improved health and safety conditions. In the end, the miners were awarded all three demands and for the first time in Australia a 35 hour working week.

Goal cells of Cook
The town of Cook is located in Nullarbor 826km west of Port Augusta and about 100km north of the Eyre Highway. Built in 1917 for the purpose of providing a railway station to service the Tea and Sugar train.
The population of Cook was a few hundred people with a school and hospital up until 1997. That year the town was closed and today has a population of four and overnight acommodation for Indian Pacific train drivers.. The homes are as the owners left them and maintained for tourists.
The hospital advertied at the station with the catch phase "If you're are crook come to Cook".
Cook's longest serving railway worker of 28 years and died in Cook.
